As Democrats prepare to choose a nominee to challenge Rep. Mike Lawler in New York’s 17th Congressional District, voters should ask two important questions: Who is best positioned to win in November, and who will be most effective in Congress if elected? After spending the past year following this race and learning about the candidates, I have concluded that Beth Davidson is the strongest choice. 

First, Davidson brings deep roots and a long record of service to our community. She has lived in Rockland County for more than two decades, raised her family here and dedicated much of her career to improving the lives of local residents. Before serving in elected office, she was active in community organizations and nonprofit boards. She later served on the Nyack School Board, including in leadership positions, and went on to represent residents in the Rockland County Legislature.
