Maria Bartiromo, who has been a prominent fixture on Fox News for more than a decade, is leaving the conservative-media giant, which abruptly announced her departure. Bartiromo herself has not yet commented on the split, but a Fox spokesperson said it was a business decision.

In a brief statement, Fox News Media revealed that Bartiromo has departed the network effective Thursday but stopped short of providing any details as to why she was leaving or what her future plans were. “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” the company said. Notably, Bartiromo’s biography appears to have already been deleted from Fox Business’ official website.

Soon, some reporting on her exit emerged.
