Concerns have been raised about the potential formation of a "two-tier society" as cash usage dwindles in British businesses. The Treasury committee was informed that groups such as the elderly, individuals with learning disabilities, and victims of domestic abuse could find themselves marginalised if the UK transitions to a "cashless" model.
