Time felt like it stood still when the final whistle went and Newcastle United were confirmed as winners of the Carabao Cup, the club's first domestic honour in 70 years.
Being among thousands of fans who had travelled to the capital for the final, it felt like the world was moving in slow motion, fans were jumping with joy all around me, and I had to take a moment to take it all in. I honestly couldn’t quite believe that they’d done it, and it felt like the perfect end to a weekend filled with absolute Geordie joy.
The whole weekend was filled with perfection. It all started with my amazing journey from Tyneside to Wembley on a Newcastle United Supporters Club bus, and having a brilliant time in the process, with fans who are the heart and soul of their beloved club. They are absolutely the best fans in the world and their welcoming and friendly spirit brings a sense of pride to be amongst them.
Saturday night at Covent Garden was memorable, fans were gathering in the iconic London location, they were all in high spirits and the mood was amazing as they all pulled together like a temporary London settlement of the Geordie nation. It was the same across the capital as there was a huge congregation were taking over the city centre, turning the streets black and white. Covent Garden was filled with billowing chants dedicated to our beloved hero........
