Every day I thank God I’m an American. Everyone who lives in communist-controlled blue (socialist Democrat) jurisdictions should also thank God every day that they are Americans too. In the 1950s when socialism was spreading across the world, places like Russia, East Germany, and Cuba had to arm their borders guards and used deadly force to keep their citizens from leaving what New York mayor Mamdani calls the “warm comfort of collectivism.” Unlike America, where we have had to build a wall to keep illegal aliens out, socialism had to build walls and systems to keep their citizens from escaping.

"Democracy may not be perfect, but at least I don't have to build a wall to keep my people in." ~John F. Kennedy

In America today, we have socialist/communist enclaves that are nearly as repressive in many ways as the 1950s and 60s communist countries. Now in America there are people who are fleeing the Blue state jurisdictions like people who were willing to risk their lives to leave East Germany until the Wall fell in the 1990s. The difference is that California, New York, and Illinois cannot use deadly force to keep their citizens from leaving. New York used to be the second most populous state in America. Today, much of New York’s population has moved to Florida, making Florida now the second most populist state after California. But Governor Newsom is working very hard to make California the second most populous state as his taxpaying citizens flee to Texas, Arizona, and Nevada.

Message to Blue state citizens; as Americans, there are at least 40 states where lifestyle and affordability are better than where you live. Change is difficult, but when you get fed up, there are no walls or armed guards to keep you from a better life. Just remember though, leave your socialist ideas and policies at your old home. Assimilate into the local culture and don’t try to make where you are like where you left. Always remember why you left in the first place.

If you choose to stay in these Blue jurisdictions, don’t whine about affordability, lawlessness, and taxes. Own your choice to stay.

After a 55 year career as a professional pilot in the military, in law enforcement, in the private sector, and in federal civil service, I am now retired.

In many of these positions I repeatedly took an oath to defend the United States Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.
