I agree with leftists that economic inequality can cause crime. My dinosaur-sized bone of contention is that inequality doesn't justify brutality. Or at least it shouldn't.

For decades I've heard troubadours sing the song of poverty justifying brutality. I consider that an insult to poor people. Lack of money doesn't equal lack of morality.

Morality trumped lack of money long before we had any legal semblance of equality

The vast majority of low income citizens aren't robbing or stealing their way to a better day. They're working, job hunting, seeking business opportunities, borrowing and praying their way forward.

For years I've told excuse makers for urban Millennial and 'Gen Z' violent treason that our community has always battled poverty. What it didn't have until recently (the 1980s 'crack' cocaine invasion) was wanton gun battles and mass shootings targeting public schools, sporting events, HBCU homecomings, bars and inner city street parades.

We didn't have 'drive-by shootings' on horseback or from buggies during captivity. Nor were mass casualty events commonplace at 'Jim Crow’ era youth gatherings. Morality trumped lack of money long before we had any legal semblance of equality.

It's a slippery slope when people who know better set up poor people to make poor safety decisions. While impoverished criminals are absolutely responsible for harm inflicted, politically enabling carnage compounds the damage.

By enablers' metric, my being a Black man grants me de facto diplomatic immunity

By enablers' metric, my being a Black man grants me de facto diplomatic immunity for attacking, robbing and taking without permission. I reject this dangerous fiction because it's beneath me. Leftists need weaponized Black bodies for use as 'misguided missiles' against the status quo.

I refuse to be one of their 'misguided missiles'.

Another glance at history debunks enablers 'poverty justifies brutality' argument: Malcolm X never said rob your way to liberation. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., never preached about carjacking your way to freedom.

Please reject 'if only rich folks treat me better' crime prevention. It produces more crime instead of reducing it. Programming poor people to attack others is cold-blooded manipulation. All it does is destabilize the low income community, elevate crime enablers and further demonizes the poor.

Poverty of values is worse than poverty of money. With values you can at least financially advance without resorting to brutality.
