Those born after April 1970 may have to wait until they're at least 71, or possibly even older, to be eligible for their state pension, according to a report on life expectancy. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has set the current pension age at 66, but this is due to rise to 67 between May 2026 and March 2028. Furthermore, those retiring after 2044 will likely have to wait until they're at least 68 before they can access their pension.
