The Government has unveiled plans to introduce digital driving licences this year, with the new licences stored in a forthcoming GOV.UK app on smartphones, which will also serve as valid proof of age. Set for release this summer, the app promises to simplify access to government services and will feature a GOV.UK "wallet" to store digital counterparts of government-issued documents.
