There are two battles on the same Alberta battlefield.

There is the question of whether Alberta should leave Canada.

That question won’t be dealt with right away but this October Albertans will be able a vote on whether the province should go through all the legal hurdles so there can be a vote on whether Alberta is in or out of Canada.

There are those separatists who hate the fact there is not a Yes or No vote on Alberta independence right now.

There are those separatists who say they are willing to go to war with Premier Danielle Smith. They think she is a sellout. They think she is betraying them. They want her gone.

Among other separatists, it is said Smith is well-liked. They like a lot of the UCP policies.

But listen to Jeff Rath, a very strong voice in the Alberta independence movement.

Rath wants Smith removed as leader of the UCP.

He calls the premier a liar and says Carney is her “net-zero boyfriend.”
