Braid: Poilievre hopes to hold Conservative leadership with old pitch that could be new again
Federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre goes into his leadership review swinging, convinced his aging agenda can carry the day — and win an election that could come sooner than we think.
The Conservative Party of Canada convention kicks off Thursday at the BMO Centre.
On Friday evening, Poilievre gives his big speech, followed by the review vote.
Poilievre is doubling down with the pitch that didn’t quite win the last election, but greatly pleased party members.
This week the Conservatives brought a House of Commons motion calling for a Sovereignty Act (sound familiar?) to entrench Poilievre’s long-standing demand for removal of all legislation that impedes development.
