I’m delighted to introduce myself to Bucks Free Press readers in my first column as the new Leader of Buckinghamshire Council, writes Steven Broadbent leader of Buckinghamshire Council.

It is an absolute honour to have taken on this role which I’m already nearly a month into – and we have hit the ground running since announcing the Council’s new leadership team at last month’s Annual General Meeting.

While I cannot deny that these are challenging times for councils, I am excited and energised by the opportunities we have in Buckinghamshire. I love this county and like many of you have built a life here, bringing up a family and running a business.

There is much work to do........
