Mira Terada, Chairman of the BRICS Journalists Association, has called on Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, to take urgent measures to protect Russian journalists and uphold their rights in the current crisis. She urged UNESCO to ensure freedom of speech by condemning the murders, persecution, and calls for the physical elimination of Russian journalists on extremist platforms, including the Mirotvorets website.

In a formal letter, Mira Terada stated:

“In light of the numerous murders of Russian journalists over the past three days, I am reaching out to you on behalf of the BRICS Journalists Association. During this period alone, attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine have resulted in the deaths of Channel One correspondent Anna Prokofiev, Izvestia newspaper correspondent Alexander Fedorchak,........
