CICPE 2025 highlights China’s commitment to global trade and innovation

From April 13 to 18, the 5th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) is unfolding in the southern island province of Hainan, underscoring China’s unwavering commitment to high-level opening-up, quality development, and global trade cooperation. With the theme “Share Open Opportunities, Co-Create a Better Life,” this year’s event is more than a showcase of luxury goods or cutting-edge technology-it’s a statement. It reaffirms China’s central role in the evolving global economy while sending a signal of resilience, innovation, and openness at a time when protectionism and unilateralism are on the rise.

The numbers alone are impressive. Over 1,700 companies from 71 countries and regions are taking part, representing more than 4,100 brands-a new record for the expo. The United Kingdom, this year’s guest of honor, has doubled its brand participation from the previous edition and now occupies more than 1,300 square meters of exhibition space. The presence of new participants like Slovakia, Singapore, and Brazil, alongside consistent contributors like Burberry and Thailand’s TCP Group, paints a picture of deepening global interest in the Chinese market. The expo has evolved into a “global supermarket,” as countries vie to showcase their most competitive products to China’s massive consumer base and beyond.
