PAPER TRAILS: Morrilton rock band Fyter sees surge of interest in ’78 debut album
In 1978, Morrilton rock band Fyter released their self-titled debut album. Recorded in three days at a studio in Oklahoma City, 1,000 copies of the 10-song LP were pressed and sold at Arkansas record stores and Fyter gigs.
The band recorded a second album, "Flying," in 1980, that didn't get released.
Fyter eventually broke up and its members moved on to other things. Over time, though, that first album found a second life among collectors and classic rock fans. On Friday, nearly 50 years after its initial release, "Fyter" is being reissued on vinyl by Guerssen Records, a label based in Spain.
And there's more. The label is also putting out "Flying" on Friday, the first official release of Fyter's........
