Dear neighbor, just wanted to let you know that while you were away for the holidays, MAGA porch pirates tried to steal your culture. Since they don't have much of their own, they wanted to take yours. Failing that, they are more than happy just to destroy it and spoil things for everybody else.

For instance, they've already decimated public television and silenced the formerly insightful reporting on "60 Minutes" where the new boss is scared of offending the Trump administration, known more for what it wishes to tear down rather than what it proposes to create.

The Kennedy Center, once a bipartisan home of American culture, is being stripped for parts by a guy who wants his name on everything. Now, nobody really wants to go there. If you visit the trumpified Smithsonian instead, you might learn that, by the way, slavery wasn't so bad after all, and white people have nothing to atone for in that regard.

Blowing up public education while grabbing free tax dollars for their kids' private schools is another popular MAGA pasttime. If pressed, however, most of these same parents would have to admit that they actually got a fairly decent education in public schools which, after all, powered the rise to prosperity........
