Les Leyne: Legislature should unite for Xavier's Law
There’s one specific move politicians resuming the legislative session this week could make that would make B.C. a much safer place.
The days will be full of argument about various crises, but politicians could come together in an instant to put the horrifying death of 12-year-old Xavier Rasul-Jankovics on the agenda.
If they raised the story, they would be unanimous in agreeing what needs to be done. Accept the petition that arose from the 12-year-old’s death six weeks ago and act on it, by toughening the suspension of driver’s licences for serious cases of reckless driving.
