Democrats' desperation is getting weird. Just look at Gavin Newsom.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has tried just about everything in recent months to rise to the top of the Democratic 2028 presidential contenders. 

The steadfast progressive governor has tried acting, kind of, like a moderate, interviewing right-wingers like Charlie Kirk on his podcast and admitting (gasp!) that it isn’t fair for boys to be playing on girls’ sports teams. He’s also started to talk tough about the homelessness that’s marred his state’s landmark cities, including Los Angeles and San Francisco. 

Newsom’s latest approach? Copying President Donald Trump’s unique style of social media missives. 

Maybe it really is true – if you can’t beat them, join them.

“Yes, I’ve changed,” Newsom told Fox LA this week, about the mimicking. “The facts have changed. We (Democrats) need to change.”

Through the governor’s press office account, outrageous and provocative posts signed with Newsom’s initials have echoed Trump’s all-caps, meme-heavy social media fare. 

Here’s an example from one of the recent posts:
