Greenland? Hmm..
Let me say up front that I have absolutely no objection to America owning Greenland; it is in a strategic place for the country, and probably not doing Denmark a whole lot of good, unless they really like snow cones there. Of course, America has existed for 250 years without owning Greenland; we could probably survive without it. But I don’t like the way the Chinese are moving into the Atlantic Ocean. Marxism is still a worldwide philosophy, and the Chinese are the biggest threat to everybody’s freedom on this globe right now. So, it might not be a bad idea to have Greenland as part of America’s defense system.
Mr. Trump does seem to be obsessed with the place; I do kind of wish he’d spend a little more time improving things in America, like getting the government out of the economy as much as possible to help it grow and put more money in the people’s pockets. This is an election year, and probably not too many Americans are going to vote for Greenland. They will vote their pocketbooks—most of them always do—and that needs to be a primary concern of Trump and the Republican Party this year. We can’t ignore our interests around the world, for sure. But “America First” means “Americans First.” I hope, after Davos, Mr. Trump will spend more of his time concentrating on getting his own country in shape. If we do get Greenland, but America destroys itself, what good have we done? We can’t eat ice.
Again, I do want to emphasize that I am certainly not in the least objectionable to America controlling, owning, or being a big mover and shaker in Greenland,........
