They met in no man’s land, exchanged small gifts of cigarettes or chocolate, and for at least a few hours they put down their arms to celebrate Christmas.
Isn’t this an example we could all follow in our own lives as we gather with friends and family? Put down the weapons, be it old grudges or new political arguments, call a truce and celebrate the season.
It’s getting to be too much hearing from so many people that they can’t possibly enjoy the holidays with their families because of politics.
