Editorial: Grown-ups needed in Albany police review board dispute
The Community Police Review Board is so bogged down that it’s falling behind on reviewing police misconduct claims.
The Albany taxpayer seems to be the last person on the minds of anyone involved in the ongoing feud over the city’s Community Police Review Board.
That’s disappointing, since Albany voters overwhelmingly backed the board in 2021 when they voted to expand its funding and legal authority.

Yet, as the Times Union’s Steve Hughes reported, the board now seems poised to file a third lawsuit against the city even as its vital work reviewing police conduct continues to fall behind.
Already, the board has sued the city, the Albany Police Department and others — first over officers ignoring its subpoenas, then over access to records........
