Commentary: SUNY ESF trains tomorrow's environmental leaders. So why did the state cut its aid?

New York has the strongest climate laws in the country. We’ve passed the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, funded the $4.2 billion Environmental Bond Act, and issued executive orders directing state agencies to decarbonize and lead by example.
Our environmental ambitions are bold. But if we don’t fund the institutions that will make those goals a reality, those laws will be nothing more than empty promises.
