Churchill: This CDTA decision is a bad one

A covering over the bus stop sign at Stuyvesant Plaza tells riders the bad news: CDTA buses will no longer travel through the shopping center.

A rider waits to board the CDTA's 10 bus, which will no longer travel through Stuyvesant Plaza once planned service cuts take effect.

Soon, the Capital District Transportation Authority buses will no longer enter Stuyvesant Plaza, forcing riders to wait along Western Avenue instead.

GUILDERLAND — When I heard that CDTA buses would stop traveling through Stuyvesant Plaza, I assumed the shopping center’s owners must be responsible. I figured they didn’t want bus riders standing amidst their increasingly upscale stores.

Heartless capitalists! What else could explain such a dubious move?

Well, I apologize to WS Development. This decision, it turns out, was made by the Capital District Transportation Authority.
