New Delhi: More than 4,000 cases against sitting and former MPs and MLAs are currently pending trial across the country, while some of these cases have remained pending for more than a decade, the Supreme Court has been informed.

According to a report submitted to the supreme court by senior advocate Vijay Hansaria, at present 4,192 cases are pending against incumbent and former parliamentarians and legislators, while 519 of these cases are pending for more than a decade, reported Indian Express.

Hansaria made the submissions in his capacity of being appointed amicus curiae........
