Sonam Wangchuk Says SC Should Record a Judgment in His Case to Prevent Future NSA Misuse

New Delhi: “If they considered me anti-national and jailed me for it, but are now releasing me, it must mean it was a mistake. Otherwise, why would they release someone they believe is anti-national back into society?”
These were the words of Sonam Wangchuk when he addressed the press after his first press conference on Tuesday, March 3, following nearly six months in custody.
When asked about the allegations against him by the government, he said that in court they were shown to “be meaningless or, at best, misunderstood, at worst, mischievous, but I want to believe it was some misunderstanding”. He went on to say that “linguistic misunderstandings” were one of the reasons for his detention.
