Our latest issue goes inside Alberta’s upheaval and what you may be missing in other communities

It’s impossible to think deeply about Canada without asking the question: Will Alberta stick around? Adam Maida highlighted the red-hot feelings roiling beneath the surface of the country in his stark visuals for the cover for our November 2026 issue. Altogether, the issue contains three Alberta stories to keep our readers informed about the historic referendum on October 19.

It can feel like Canada is too big with too much news for any one publication to cover. There’s so much happening not only at the federal level but in every last little corner of the country. But each and every place deserves to have its stories told. The Walrus’s November issue features articles from every region of the nation.
