A new poll found that half of US voters believe that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. However, Israel is not committing genocide, which means acting with intent to destroy a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. Israel is not intent on destroying the Palestinian people in Gaza. Instead, Israel is intent only on destroying Hamas, which started the war in Gaza by massacring 1,200 Israelis and abducting 250 survivors on Oct. 7, 2023.
