So, we are now at the stage where buses have to be diverted from Aberdeen streets because of “feral youths” on bikes playing chicken with moving traffic.

Sadly, the scenes of daft kids swerving into the path of cars and buses near P&J Live on Friday aren’t limited to Dyce and Bucksburn. I’ve witnessed it first hand in the city centre, with some of these young fools on e-bikes pulling wheelies into oncoming traffic on Guild Street.

So, clearly, we are at the point where something needs to be done before someone – most likely a stupid urchin – ends up badly hurt or worse.

But that is simply stating the obvious. The trick is saying what needs to be done.

Rounded up by the cops and dealt with by the justice system? Have you seen the state of police and court resources........
