Rawalpindi: Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar has said that if the matter of negotiations has reached the level of a meeting of the five elders, it should not be considered.

While talking to the media after reaching Dahgal Naka Adiala Road on the occasion of going to meet the party’s founder Imran Khan, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that if the matter of negotiations has reached the level of a meeting of the five elders, it should not be considered because neither the five elders can meet nor is there a need for it.

He raised the question that how will the negotiations take place when meetings are not allowed? We come every Tuesday and leave without meeting. It has been more than a month since anyone met the founder.

The Chairman PTI said that by making the meetings controversial, where will the talks go forward, a heavy price is being demanded to normalize the situation. He said that as much effort we have made to improve the situation, the other side has made the same effort to worsen the situation.

Barrister Gohar said that the biggest strength of the founder and his party is its workers. The workers have endured all the hardships imposed by the state. He announced that there will be a shutter down and wheel jam strike across the country on February 8 and a full-scale protest will be recorded.

He said that a meeting of Imran Khan, his sisters and lawyers is necessary to bring the situation back to normal. Notifications of Achakzai Sahib and Allama Sahib should be issued in the National Assembly and Senate. Those who are working for the betterment of the situation should be praised.

Barrister Gohar said that he also received a call from Imran Ismail. He made it clear that we will not participate in this conference because the party has reservations about it. He said that he does not comment publicly on the words of party people.

The PTI Chairman explained that the issue of begging was distorted, their aim was that despite court orders, SOPs and laws, meetings are not given and if despite court orders, meetings are not allowed, then this is begging. He said that our system has become silent. There has been no leadership meeting since February last year. There are instructions from the founder regarding the street movement. No committee of the party can ignore these instructions, protest is our right and the party has a plan of action.

The PTI Chairman said that we have never called off negotiations but there is no logic in talking about five elders. He said that the Speaker has asked to decide on the notification by the next meeting. We want the notification of the opposition leaders to be issued before the next meeting.

He said that the PPP is expected to allow the rally in Sindh. We support the issue of giving full protocol to the Chief Minister of Khyber........
