THE Sam Long story is one of commitment, passion and a never say die attitude.

Bicester-born Long is Mr Oxford United – an unofficial title, but one befitting of his dedication to the club.

Since his U’s debut in April 2013, there have been plenty of ups and downs, however the fight and hunger has remained a persistent theme.

News of a contract extension beyond next summer is welcome, for there are not many United players who deserve it more than Long.
