Sony, TSMC to invest $6.3B in Japan for next-gen image sensors

In a latest update, Sony and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company TSMC are planning a massive joint investment of roughly 1 trillion yen ($6.3 billion) to produce next-generation image sensors.

The collaboration will operate through a dedicated joint venture based in Kumamoto Prefecture, Southern Japan.
