Elon Musk, the world’s first trillionaire, has revealed the SpaceX vision for self-replicating spacecraft.

A Von Neumann probe is a theoretical concept for an autonomous spacecraft capable of self-replication. It was named after the Hungarian-American physicist John Von Neumann who first studied the logic of self-replicating systems.

This is not the first time the CEO of SpaceX has proposed the idea of “self-replicating spacecraft.” In February, Musk also stole the spotlight by claiming that Tesla’s Optimus is set to become the world’s first “Von Neumann machine.”
