The Boeing contract will pay for initial production of three MQ-25 Stingray drones and key components for three more.

The US Navy is one step closer to having a drone refuel its fighter jets over the oceans. 

The service awarded Boeing a $552 million contract for the initial production of the MQ-25 Stingray unmanned aerial system. The Navy aims to turn the MQ-25 into an air refueling drone that will support carrier air wing operations in a potential conflict with China and other contingencies.
