The signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement on 7 August 2026 by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye marks a significant development in the evolving security architecture of the Muslim world. Signed in the holy city of Makkah by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the agreement has attracted considerable international attention due to its strategic implications for regional and global geopolitics.
