The United Nations’ warning that floods now threaten over 800,000 people in the Gaza Strip underscores a catastrophe layered upon catastrophe. Torrential rains have inundated already devastated neighbourhoods, displaced families sheltering in makeshift camps, and overwhelmed what little remains of Gaza’s infrastructure. This unfolding natural disaster arrives not in isolation, but amid an ongoing campaign of destruction that has systematically stripped the population of safety, shelter, and dignity.
