On the 11th anniversary of the attack on the Army Public School, Pakistan once again finds itself confronting many of the same issues and challenges it faced 11 years ago. The deadliest terrorist attack in the country’s history, in which 144 people, most of them schoolchildren, were killed when heavily armed militants stormed the army-run school on December 16, 2014, served as a devastating clarion call. It was meant to impress upon both policymakers and the public that the menace of terrorism had to be eliminated once and for all.
