It appears that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has finally achieved what it has long sought: yet another confrontation with the state, one designed to inflame passions, reinforce an anti-state narrative, and once again cast itself as the aggrieved party. Were this tactic not so exhausted and overused, it might have yielded political dividends.
