EDITORIAL: Don’t skip Canajoharie capital vote
When annual maintenance is overlooked or neglected, the price to do it all at once adds up quickly.
So it’s understandable why voters in Canajoharie might balk at the cost of the $29.66 million capital project when they go to the polls on Thursday.
It’s also understandable that they might balk about voting to make substantial upgrades to the buildings, parking lots and the sports fields when district officials are in the middle of discussing a merger with the Fort Plain school district.
One more balk they might have is being asked to vote on this proposal in December, when people’s minds are more occupied with the holidays and they’re unlikely to be paying close attention to a major........
