Carter’s legacy of caring, giving lives on
As we reflect on the many contributions that President Jimmy Carter made during his lifetime, let’s not forget the incredible legacy he left our communities through his many years volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.
Though he never made it back to Rotterdam after living there in 1953, evidence of his Habitat legacy is clearly visible in the 64 Habitat houses built throughout Schenectady (with two in Rotterdam).
Houses built with the same hard work and dedication of so many volunteers who have followed his example of selfless giving. Thank you, Jimmy Carter. Your legacy lives on.
