Trump disrespected our military leaders

President Trump summoned our military senior leaders to meet with him in Quantico. As a draft dodger, he had an awful lot to say about something he never experienced, i.e. service to one’s country in a military uniform.

The assembled officers, on the other hand, have made a career of serving their country. You don’t get to be a senior military leader if you don’t understand the special responsibilities that go with senior rank. Many of them attended one of our country’s military academies. To attain their rank, they also completed senior level leadership schools required by their branch or service.

They all understand the restrictions of our Posse Comitatus Act that prohibits the military from participation in civilian law enforcement. They must have been totally mystified to listen to the president rant for an hour on how they would do his bidding or resign. They........
