Seeds of resistance are planted, growing

Is our country great again yet? Capitalists are tripping over each other in the race to see who can become the first trillionaire. Get used to the term. They’re coming.

The America of today no longer says, “Give me your tired, your poor, … the wretched refuse of your teeming shore…” The leader of this would-be-great-again America talks of charging $5 million for a golden passport. Funny or sad?

On April 5, in steady rain, gusty winds and 43 degrees, thousands of people protested at the New York state capitol. Unlike ill-defined MAGA populism, this resistance speaks not for an abstract America, but for the people in it.
