Kirk didn’t earn status as a hero or martyr

I hate guns; I hate violence. Kirk’s assassin took away the opportunity to debate him and try to change his opinions.

A look at some of Kirk’s quotes might help some understand why many of us, though upset by his murder, do not believe he has earned the status of an American hero or martyr.
