Schenectady can’t keep ignoring issues

An open letter to the mayor and council of Schenectady:

Living, driving and walking in Schenectady has deteriorated drastically over the last several years.

When you, Mayor McCarthy, and others running for office or reelection are asked about quality of life issues, the standard reply is ‘we’re working on it.’

As a resident in the city, that is clearly untrue. Cars drive with music blaring at house-window rattling decibel levels. Cars speed at often double or more than the posted speed limits — not even slowing down for stop signs in residential areas where children and pets are risking their lives just being........
