Watch live: US trade rep testifies before House on White House budget after tariff blow

U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer will testify before the House Appropriations Committee on Thursday morning to discuss President Trump’s fiscal 2027 budget request.

Trump is seeking to boost investment in U.S. businesses as part of the administration’s “America First” trade agenda. The request also includes a $10 million increase in trade enforcement at the International Trade Administration (ITA).

The hearing comes after the Supreme Court struck a blow to the president’s emergency tariffs earlier this year. In response, Trump enacted a 10 percent global tariff as part of a provision in the Trade Act of 1974

The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EDT.
