Live updates: RFK Jr. attacks former CDC chief at heated Senate hearing
Health and Human (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. attacked the former director of the Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) who he fired last week, accusing her of lying in a Thursday op-ed.
Susan Monarez, the former director, said she was terminated over her refusal to give in to pressure to “compromise science itself" amid disagreements with Kennedy over vaccine and public health policies. A number of other senior CDC officials departed in the wake.
The health chief has defended the move, stating it aligns with the Trump administration's “Make America Healthy Again” agenda. Kennedy will face © The Hill
