Fresh off his primary victory earlier this week, Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is set to appear on two news programs Sunday as he looks ahead to the November general election against former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.).

El-Sayed defeated center-left Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) in the Democratic primary on Wednesday, and now faces questions over how he will solidify support outside the party’s base and energize Black voters. The former health official is scheduled for interviews on CNN’s “State of the Union” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-N.Y.), another notable progressive, is set to appear on ABC’s “This Week” after she revealed on Instagram Saturday night that she is freezing her eggs.
