Moderna gets $50M investment for Ebola vaccine candidate

Global health foundation Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) will invest $50 million to support development and initial clinical testing of Moderna’s investigational vaccine against the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola, the deadly virus ripping through parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo. 

If early ‌data ⁠are positive, the funding would also support manufacturing and progression to later-stage trials to generate data for emergency use authorization or licensure, Moderna said.
