Trump tours Elvis Presley’s Graceland, signs guitar during Memphis visit
President Trump stopped to visit Elvis Presley’s former home, known as Graceland, during his trip to Memphis, Tenn., on Monday.
“They all say, ‘Did you know Elvis?’” Trump told reporters during a tour of the mansion.
“So I knew Frank Sinatra, I knew most of them. Unfortunately, I never met Elvis, and that would have been one I would have liked a lot,” he continued.
“But I do like his music,” he said.
Trump signed a replica of one of Presley’s guitars during the visit and revealed his favorite Elvis song was “Hurt.”
The Medal of Freedom, which Trump posthumously awarded Presley in 2018, was on display during the visit.
Trump announced he would visit the rock ‘n’ roll legend’s home earlier at a Memphis Safe Task Force roundtable, where the president touted his administration’s efforts to combat crime in the city and across the country.
Trump noted during his tour of Graceland that Memphis is “safe again.”
Last September, Trump formed the Memphis Safe Task Force in an effort to replicate the federal law enforcement crackdown in Washington, D.C., in the Tennessee city.
