Three Democratic governors are appearing before the House Oversight Committee on Thursday morning to address sanctuary states, a topic well-timed with protests in California and beyond over the Trump administration's crackdown on migrants.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker face the committee in a hearing that was scheduled weeks before Los Angeles protests prompted the White House to call up California's National Guard and deploy 700 Marines to quell the crowds.
