Trump says FIFA would make ‘terrible mistake’ replacing Infantino

President Trump came to the defense of FIFA president Gianni Infantino as he faces mounting pressure to resign as head of the federation.

FIFA, the president wrote in a Truth Social post on Monday “would be making a terrible mistake if, for any reason, they even considered replacing President Gianni Infantino.”

Trump called Infantino “fantastic,” and noted he “just presided over the most successful World Cup, by four times, ever presented.”

“If he is gone,” the president added, “it will never be as successful or profitable again!”
