President Trump is headed to Georgia today to talk about the exact issues Republicans want him to focus on: affordability! 

It’s a top priority for voters, an issue that GOP strategists are worried the president does not talk enough about. Remember that Trump’s war with Iran has driven up prices. 

But what is also likely on Trump’s mind: Election security. Trump has recently reupped his disproven claims of election fraud in the 2020 election, including in Georgia.  

And that means: Trump’s rivalry with Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff (D) is looming over the visit, The Hill’s Julia Manchester reports. 

Remember: “Trump has long claimed he won Georgia in 2020, a state where he lost to former President Biden by 11,779 votes. The president called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Jan. 2, 2021, and asked him to recalculate the results and find ‘11,780 votes,’ which would have made Trump the winner of the state.” 

^ That call happened just a few days before Ossoff won his election.

BEFORE TRUMP’S VISIT TO GEORGIA: 

He stopped in Dover, Del., for the dignified transfer of troops killed over the weekend in Jordan and Iraq. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was expected to join.
